Over my lifetime I have had to eat a bunch of things where I could really only blame myself for the way that things eventually went. Whining about it would do little to change anything. So I ate the work and chalked it up to “education fees and tuitions.”

If you read Tim Wilson’s post in this thread, you can find a FREE hosting service that will support unlimited (up to) 900 pixel wide (including 720p HD) 100MB files that can be embedded and won’t be pulled unless a lawyer contacts our lawyer for copyright infringement — or if you, as the owner, want it pulled.

We have a pipe that is as big as General Motors and many major multi-national corporations. Feel free to use some of it. We won’t mind at all. ;o)

They would be appearing on your profile page if you had added them, Eli. So I think you are recalling another site to which you have added them.

If you add them here, you can upload a video that is up to 900 pixels wide and up to 100MB. If you export them as 720p HD, the site will support them. Render using AAC audio settings.

If it’s a business, then treat it like a business: what is your day rate? A grand a day? $500 a day? Whatever that day rate is, charge that.

But if you are going to do it for “just whatever you guys can afford,” then it isn’t a business, it is because you are a fan.

You are about to step into video’s Most Deadly Game.

Expectations are never so high and emotions running so intense as they do on wedding videos.

I have done ONE.

I will never do another.

Why?

Bridezilla.

There is a second reason that wedding videos are best kept to the experts that do them all the time, and that is that just as in TV commercials, musical forms, etc., etc., there is a current popular style that many brides want. You better be able to understand and achieve that style or they will be disappointed. (Translation: you better be prepared to have lots of wedding stock animations, lower thirds, wipes, etc., and add lots of cheese.)

It will be the hardest money you ever make and even working with demanding ad agencies doesn’t compare, in my opinion. Hitting the demands of BMW’s agency was a cakewalk compared to Bridezilla.

My advice? Leave this one to the experts in the field. I know many good wedding/event video editors who do great work and earn a respectable living from it but they all had to pass through the fire to get there.
