As long as you are not giving away the font, Jim, you do not need anything more than using the fonts that you are licensed to use because you installed them from discs that you bought, or that came with various system fonts or were installed as part of a program you bought.

If you are going to hand copies of your fonts used to the audience that is watching your program — which I highly doubt is your intent or will be your usage — then you most likely have no need of a freeware or Creative Commons licensed font.

If I am misunderstanding your question, please give more clarification, but on the surface, you appear to have no need for anything more than using the fonts that are legitimately on your machine. (If it’s illegitimately on your machine then it’s another matter altogether.)

Years ago, I had a printer that used to give me one edge that was never the same as the other three. I got tired of fighting with it and simply set my pages to where all three of the other edges of the page were the same as the one odd ball edge. Not a perfect solution but my nerves felt better and the images looked balanced to the audience.

Personally, I do all of my masking in Photoshop and then bring the file into InDesign. I am just a lot more comfortable manipulating images in PS and find that it’s much more powerful.

I might be missing the point of your question and if so, my apologies. If I am, hopefully someone else will jump in and more directly respond to your question.

Thank you for the feedback, Bill. Yes, we are indeed delighted to have Debra working with us but as you say, the popularity of the threads cross-posted across so many forums have become very long and do take over many of the forums, even some of the busiest ones. I had noticed that myself and meant to talk to the team about a solution.

I think the solution is to make these notices “sticky posts” as they do not show the threads, they are merely there at the top of the forums for people to either read or not. That way, we get to point out what we feel is a great article, and it gets done without it taking over the board in some of our forums.

Unfortunately, I cannot get this done after a thread is posted in the manner in which it was done, it must be set up properly in the beginning. We’ll get the mechanism changed so that this doesn’t happen in the future. Me, I think the best solution is a stick post that stays stick for a prescribed period of time and then drops off automatically. That way, we cover all the bases in a way that works for the greatest number of people.

Hi Alex,

Every time a member changes their name or their email address it throws them back into moderation automatically. Why? (We know you are not one, Alex) but spammers have resorted to using real people to open an account, get it approved, then they try to switch the name to their spam engine name and change the email address to their auto-bot feed.

We used to not throw accounts back onto moderation when things were changed but then we started getting bots clogging the forums with hundreds of posts in an hour or two and we had to write admin utilities to clean up the mess. It was then that we instituted a policy of watching the changes made.

I will take your account off moderation, Alex. After all, you are not a spam engine…

I have not approved blogs that are full of HTML characters that are visible. Some of Tony’s posts include all of the visible HTML code and it makes it almost unreadable.

Unfortunately, if truth be told, Michael, he does NOT sleep. I wish that I could tell you that this is his choice but it is simply not the case. Between the various publishers he works with on books, DVDs, and digital formats, we keep him on a strict diet of coffee and white sugar — with a “zap” of corn syrup should he ever become weakened. On occasion, if his eyes began to dull, we do give him vitamins and minerals but only the Flintstones vitamins variety, because he likes Barney and Fred and thinks that Wilma and Betty are “the bomb.” He is intravenously fed this elixir as he pushes around a drip line with a bottle suspended on a stainless steel wheeled cart such as you see in the hospitals where you work, Mike. And before you ask, yes he does indeed wear the little hospital gown that’s open in the back and so we have a strict “eyes towards your publishers”-only policy which is part of his contract.

Because of all this, we truly do believe that people should get his work now, while they can. In fact, between now and May 15th, people can save $10 off his new title. Yes, get ’em now. From studies we’ve read about that use white mice and rats in laboratories, a steady diet of coffee and white sugar syrup — even those with the corn syrup “boost” — can cause people to believe everything they read in the newspaper and see on the nightly news. From there, it’s a rapidly decline into dementia and then the inability to push the keys on a keyboard and get things done.

But worry not hearty travelers, Richard does not worry about any of this and says to his children, “it’s my destiny,” and that he’d “not have it any other way. Besides, I’ve come to really like the ‘corn syrup kick’ and the Flintstones vitamins, those two alone make it all worthwhile getting up in the morning.”

So there, now you know the whole story, Mike.
