  • Hi Franklin,

I just wanted to again thank you for the privilege of having “Clients or Grinders” used in episode 31 of your show. I just listened to it and had to chuckle that that little article has done so many things and been used in so many ways over the years.

(who is now subscribed to you show, btw)

  • That is a brilliant way of “heating things up”, Nick. ;o)

Anytime you can give yourself an edge when cold calling is sure to add to your bottomline.

Nice technique, man. When I grow up, I want to be just like you, you animal. ;o)

  • Thanks for the kind words, Franklin, and thanks for building episode 31 of your Podcast radio show around “Clients or Grinders.” It was an honor to receive your email and hear that you have done that. That little article seems to have a life all its own and I am grateful to have stumbled into that principle long ago — so long ago in fact, that I cannot remember if anyone ever taught it to me or if it was just one of those serendipitous moments of realisation where your circumstances communicate lessons to you in the situation.

I can’t agree more about the importance of asking for tha deal. That, and not talking past the point of the sale — now that’s something I am still working on at age 54. ;o)

Someday, when I grow up, I wanna get these things all worked out.

    Best always,

    Ron Lindeboom

  • Damn, all this talk about Phoenix and stuff has me hearing that old Glen Campbell song, “By the Time I Get to Phoenix.”

But hey, it beats the heck out of that (purple dinosaur) Barney song…

    Hi Filip,

We would love your feedback in getting the HTML features tweaked from your perspective. You tend to be the guy who uses this feature of the Cow the very most and so you would be a great one to give feedback on what you like and do not like.

We would love to work through the points that need refinement with you.

    Best regards,

    Hi Chuck,

We understand your concerns but we have always developed the Cow mechanism to allow those who are savvy (like Filip) with HTML to be able to use it to make bulleted points, etc.

What Filip was referring to is the email notifications that are sent out to the leaders and members and which get very wierd when they are done second- and third-hand.

    Best always,

    Hi Asaf,

I just tried your link and it worked fine on my machine. What system are you using and what browser? Without that kind of information, there is simply no way to get to the problem if there is a residual bug hiding that bites a particular browser on a particular OS.

Also, please direct these kinds of posts to the “COWmunications” forum as the tech guys watch that forum and not this one.

    Thanks,

You could try the Apple Xsan forum here at the Cow because a lot of the more power users of FCP hang out in there and they can probably field your questions.

[Chris Smith] “If that doesn’t work search the Island Cow archive for ‘crabtrap laptop’, I think there are some helpful hints :)”

Thanks, Chris — I damn near spewed my coffee all over the screen reading this one.

    :o)

    Thanks for the laugh…

    Hi Charlie,

When I created the newsletter, I gave an address at the top but did not set it as a clickable link. So your software has done so and in doing so has added or removed something that makes it incorrect.

We intend that the top link be copy and pasted into your browser.

So double-check whether or not it came through correctly, here is the correct address…

Thanks Charlie and my apologies for the glitch,

    Ron Lindeboom
