Hi attached to this message should be a grab. The left hand image is the export where ghosting is clearly visible, the right the same shot while editing in fcp, where the image is interpreted correctly. The film is a three minute fashion shoot cut down from about thirty minutes of original footage shot onto miniDV tape. I’m shooting HDV usually at a high shutterspeed because I like the look, normal light conditions, no frame blendling, no special settings switched on apart from steadyshot. No down convert when I import into fcp.
The footage is fine when reviewed on tape and while editing in fcp, just the imported .mov and the export have the ghosting problem. I shoot 50i which I deinterlace at export stage but clearly this is not an interlacing issue. I’m exporting using the h264 setting on quicktime converter to make a 520 by 348 film ready for upload to the web.
Thanks for any help, R.
