We’ve been experiencing the same issue with this for several weeks. Seems like any time we do anything in Motion that invokes a dialog window, such as “Save As” or “export” or even trying to change the path of the Motion Library & Templates, causes the exact type of crashes you describe.

We’re on a SAN System, & just recently upgraded from OS 10.5.x to OS 10.6.8. Doesn’t seem that our engineers did a “clean” install, or updated the Final Cut Studio apps. I’ll be checking in to see if anyone has any suggestions.
