Yes, that is the file I downloaded and installed. Hasn’t worked on multiple copies of FCP so far. Even did a fresh install of it on a system that hasn’t seen FCP before and still didn’t work. But this all still works well under FCP 5.1.4

Yes, there is video in the folder. I have successfully imported it into FCP 5.1.4 and previous drivers ok. The media is fine. thanks for checking, i ruled that out early on.

Aside from the Panasonic professional video sites being about the most confusing I’ve ever come across, I was unsure about this because I found 2 different locations with seemingly the same files, but with different download file names, and getting there from 2 different navigation directions. The insides of the files were the same. But I do question if I have the correct files. When it comes down to it as nothing has worked up to now.

I’ve done a fresh install on 2 systems so far. No additional plug-ins or add-ons installed.

Tried this with the media both on and off the cards. Now back on FCP 5.1 and everything is working perfectly. I think I will just bring the projects over and convert to use in 6 for the time being until I can sort this out. thanks for all your help! best, rob

I’ve pointed the folder at the CONTENTS folder and the folder on the actual card, which contains the following hierarchy:

    CONTENTS
    VOICE
    AUDIO
    CLIP
    ICON
    PROXY
    VIDEO

I will load this into older FCP with the older drivers and I am confident this will work. I am hitting a wall here with the latest version. And no i’m not an amateur with this, only with this version. Seems odd to me that this should just work.

    thanks, rob

I do, and I have the latest drivers installed. I try and drag the media folder into the media window and I’m getting an unsupported media error or invalid directory structure warning. In previous versions I located the directory via the Import plug-in, I don’t see anything similar here. When I try and add a custom path, I get the same error. I think i will go back to FCP5 and get this process going in the meantime.

    thanks, rob

Sorry Shane, no I don’t. It’s a raw FCP install. thanks, rob

OK, i just tried this, and says it contains unsupported media with the parent folder with the “CONTENTS” folder. Three days ago this how i was importing and converting the footage. Then I did an update and nothing. It seems like this will be more intuitive and this is the first encounter i’ve had with hundreds of cards shot where I’ve not been able to import footage while on location or for 2 days afterwards for whatever reason.
