I have used an adapter that allowed me to use my Vintage (1950’s) Nikon lenses on an EOS Canon with mixed results. There have been enormous improvements in optics over the years and while I was able to get a usable image, the quality paled in comparison to new Canon lenses.

Also all automatic features are lost – no auto focus, no auto exposure (though you should be able to monitor the exposure in the Canon’s LCD screen.) If you are considering buying a 7D or 5D, I expect you want the best possible image quality and I don’t think you would be happy with the results from your lenses. As well, I suspect you will have considerable difficulty finding a suitable adapter for these lenses.

You might consider getting a less expensive Canon such as the T3i or the 60D and put the savings into some good Canon glass.
