I got the same result – Distorted to -33.33 and Scaled to 133.33%

Thats a handy function in FCP, though. I will keep that in mind when I have an entire sequence of clips that need to change to new sequence settings.

For now I will just take the video into Compressor and convert to ProRes since the video is a single self-contained Quicktime.

As stated earlier, you should not be playing your video off of your data DVD. Once your data DVD is created, you (and your client) need to drag the file off of the data DVD (just like you would with a thumb drive) and onto your Desktop. THEN play the video from your DESKTOP.

To get the best quality video, export your timeline at Current Settings. Then bring that file into Compressor to compress to the best quality H.264 you know how to make.

Then burn your data DVD.

I would ditch the printer that FedEx gave you and print the label on the 8.5X11 sheets of paper. I’ve watched a FedEx guy scan those and they seem to work just fine. Its easy-peasy 😀

At my work we log into our account on FedEx.com, prepare the shipment (which isn’t anything more than you would fill in if you were filling it out by hand), and then print the shipping label from any printer. We just stick the label in one of FedEx’s adhesive pouch things, and then some FedEx guy picks up the package. He comes at the same time every day. If we don’t have the package prepared in time for pick up, all we do is dropped it off at the nearest FedEx. I’ve never had a problem. Do you have a FedEx account?

Export an HD video.

Use Compressor to downconvert to SD

Is the second audio track that you’re adding a 16-bit 48KHz .aiff file?

I have no idea how many frames per second they used for this time lapse, however, that it’s not hard to create something likable in FCP:

– Throw all your pics in the timeline
– Highlight them all
– Right Click
-Choose duration, then type in how long you’d like each photo play. The longer the clip, the less ‘frames per second’

And it does look like they used a cross dissolve between each photo.

I wouldn’t bring Motion files into FCP. Well, not for the final edit. Export Lossless Quicktimes out of Motion and bring those into FCP. I do it all the time, it works great.
