Oh, sorry for my incorrect terminology.

I did not tell them what format to capture. The producer spoke with the post house. I was simply asked to drop off the tapes at 11am and pick everything back up at 5pm…and the post house was late and I didn’t get the stuff til 7.

But that’s all besides the point. I will be sure to tell the producer that it simply needs to be re-done.

Thanks Walter. Big help as usual.

Thanks Dave. I’ll save up for that DVD. I got a creative cow DVD for Color and was very satisfied with that, so im sure the one you suggested will be just a good.

    Nick,

Thanks for that great explanation. I am certain this information will help us when choosing equipment for our production.

    Thanks again.

I had to uninstall the other day.

People here at the Cow said to me that it’s easier to just removing everything and re-install everything. You can’t just do one program since they are all “connected.”

To cleanly uninstall, i downloaded FCS remover. It was fast and easy. Then reinstalling was simple.

  • I think when it comes to hard drive brands, it’s one of those things where a some people have a lot of problems and others have no problems at all.

Personally, I’ve never had a problem with a LaCie. I have one that I got in 2005 that is still running problem free. My d2 Quadra just demounts occasionally when I wake up my computer.

Luckily, it hasn’t erased anything, but I’m hoping the advice I got from this thread keeps it from demounting. I have a feeling it was the “automatic” setting I had the drive set to. The drive I got in 2005 doesn’t have a switch; it’s just always on, and that’s probably why I never had a problem.

Anyway, thanks again guys. Always a help.

  • hmm….that’s interesting.

    Thanks again.

  • Really? Not even allow the computer to sleep? I feel like that would be bad for the computer…like it needs to take a break or something, at least while I sleep. I’ll take your word for it though.
