    That’s a great question… When you must point out the character’s reaction at that particular point in the story. Or the person listening is truly captivated by what the character in close up is saying (so using it as a point of view of the scene). And of course, if you wish to show how the character is is speaking, i.e., maybe there is some subtext that you will not see in a medium or wide shot!
