Gary, to answer your question, I’m still trying to master Vegas 4.
The problem turned out to be in the DV deck. Somehow, the input signal got switched (while I was looking out the window).

I have transferred video from my DV deck into my computer to make a DVD and the connection was fine. Therefore, I think the problem is not the computer.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it. I’ve got a customer wanting their program and I cannot get it out of my computer.

I checked and the preview quality HAD been changed to draft mode. It is now repaired. Many Thanks!!!!!

I am previewing with an NTSC monitor, using a firewire card. I have not changed any settings, the previews of transitions just started getting real bad. I have looked at the beginning of the video track and can see no effect icons highlighted. Everything looks pretty normal.
