  • Hi Laurent,

We use SANmp and globalSAN via a 10GE connection to our Resolve. The renders work fine off the SANmp volumes. We did use a MacPro initially as the server but recently upgraded to an EVO, for the money your talking about you should do the same.

    Cheers

I have the same problem, did you ever get any answers. The card is really annoying.

I know this issue has been solved but can I just say this highlights to me everything that was wrong with FCP. Yes it was cheap, many non-tech people/production companies thought they were ‘thinking different’ and took it on. ‘Hey just throw your media in the time line and start cutting’ they say……a fine cut is made and everyone is happy except the online editor/colorist who has to deal with all the mixed frame rates, weird file names, bad conversions, etc. Preping an FCP sequence can be diabolical.
It’s interesting how the client whinges when you put that extra prep time on the invoice….I just say to them ‘Think Differnet’

As you can gather I have been scared.

This card may be screaming but getting it to work with any low latency needs is ….well I haven’t

  • Yes but it’s terrible if you want low latency. I haven’t yet been able to tune it for multible streams and Areca support is yet to be desired.

I have exactly the same issue. Installed the 1882x in a 2009 MacPro/Lion and an iStoragePro 8Bay miniSAS with 3TB Ultrastars.
    The Config. is RAID 6.
I get a fast spike write at 1000 MBs and read flounders a 500MBs. I’ve emailed Areca, waiting for a reply.
There seems to be alot of ppl with this issue
