There might be a better or more efficient way of doing this, but I achieved this by applying CC Light Sweep not to an adjustment layer, but to a black solid. This is of course above your PS layer.

Then I set the PS layer to “Luma Matte”. Note: This will effectively shut off your light sweep… but that’s easily fixable by turning the eyeball back on, if desired.
