it’s an isometric. looks like 3d but it’s a 2d. but how to make an isometric things? can i use ruler?

i started using AE since 2009. But i just follow some tutorials. I don’t really know the inside of AE. But now, i want to go deeper with AE.
Multiprocessing is off. But still got that error. By the way, i tricked it, in certain frames, if i render preview it will got the error. But i moved to other frames. And got no error. So I trim my comp, then it worked.

Yes, the shadows are wrong. But how can i make the shadows? Using gradient or drop shadow? Sorry if the question sounds amateur.
So to make the 3d stuff, should i make it 3d in illustrator or make all 2d and adjust them so they look 3d?
and what do you mean with 3d package?

thank you for your answer and solution. I really appreciate it, and i got some tips from you too. About the white spot, i guess it’s only me being lazy to retouch the vertices after i accidentally messed it up. I’ll be more precise on modeling the character in the future. thanks a lot

it works. thanks. I replaced the head from AI with PSD one.. When i rendered it, no jagged edge. I put the beard in one PSD file with the head.
But now the problem is there any way to get rid the white lines from the beard and ear?

i’ve turned on the collapse transformation for the head, but still i got jagged edge. actually I turned off the collapse transformation for the legs. because if I turn them on, they will get jaggy. anyway, thanks for your reply
