The best I learned was if you export an EDL and choose use file names it will go to file names. I also was able to go thru a crazy experiment of exporting an edl bring it back in connect it then export an XML open in fcp7 then export XMLor edl and bring back into fcp7 then clean it up and between all this it seemed to clear all the merged issues. Sorry that does sound awful I’ve spent countless hours trying to fix this.

I think I solved this issue. I did an EDL and when I brought that back into Premiere it was only referencing the video and audio files no more merged clips! It seems to have work. Now just hoping I can transfer it to FCPX with 7toX as that how I wanted to continue work on it.

    Thanks!

Thank you! I will set that up!
Also, how does Adobe Cinema DNG fit into Avid DNxHD and ProRes? Is it similar? Thanks! I appreciate the help, I’ve been so use to just using ProRes since FCS2 came out and it’s confusing to add all these questions in on a new system.

Thank you very much for the information! I will purchase the book. I’ve been working with PrP on my Mac for the past year interchangeably with FCP but now adding Windows and losing all the tools I’ve used for 8 years is a tough one. I downloaded the Avid DNxHD codec from Avid from a google but it doesn’t show up as a codec in Media Encoder. Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the help
