October 7, 2009 at 6:10 pm in reply to: Problem with, Sound delay, Machina and Cineform XENA LHiI’m not sure, but that’s what I was told by Adobe when I had to reinstall.
It might be different in Sweden.
Tim’s suggestion is one that you should try first before you go into a Premiere reinstall. -

October 7, 2009 at 5:42 pm in reply to: Problem with, Sound delay, Machina and Cineform XENA LHiWhat do you mean by “lost the ASIO”?
Is it in “Edit / Preferences / Audio Hardware”?
How about the AJA video options? It sounds very much like the type of problem that I have, so I’d like to know if reinstalling Premiere works.
The problem with reinstalling Premiere is that, from what I understand, the license is only for three installs.
I bought a new workstation in August and had to reinstall CS4 on that machine. Now I have only one install left, so I want to make sure that if I do it it will solve the problem.
Good luck! -

October 7, 2009 at 12:14 am in reply to: Problem with, Sound delay, Machina and Cineform XENA LHiI agree with Bram on the AJA drivers.
We both had problems with the 4.1.3.
So maybe it’s best that you take care of that before anything else.
It doesn’t mean that it will be the solution, but it might save you a lot of effort if that’s what it is. -

October 6, 2009 at 11:51 pm in reply to: Problem with, Sound delay, Machina and Cineform XENA LHiI do always uninstall my drivers before I install new ones. It’s OK to ask that question, because you always have to start with the basics.
My problems started the minute I went from 4.1.1 to 4.1.3. I had normal playback before.
I went back to 4.1.1 and the problems remained. Now I’m in 4.1.4 and the same problems persist.
What’s surprising is that the drivers date on the new version still shows 5/19/09. Maybe AJA doesn’t change that date when they release a new version.I’m using an external Roland audio interface, but in Preferences, I use the AJA ASIO.
Audio itself shouldn’t be the problem.
The fact that it works well in Source but not in Program is strange. And the AJA Playback panel not opening up shouldn’t be related to audio.
Also, I get no output to my external component monitor when in program (I don’t have SDI inputs on that monitor). But it works from Source.Mikael, the audio delay I get is different from the one you are experiencing. In my case, it’s just off-sync with the video.
In your case, if you get stuttering, it sounds like a buffer setting. But I don’t know that you can control this in Premiere.I have all the latest drivers in every component (checked over and over). My workstation is a Dell T7500 Quad-Core so it’s in the AJA requirements.
I’m going to redo an AJA 4.1.4 uninstall and reinstall to see if it makes any difference. -

October 6, 2009 at 10:53 pm in reply to: Problem with, Sound delay, Machina and Cineform XENA LHiI have an identical problem with my Xena LS card and Premiere Pro CS4, with the AJA 4.1.4 drivers.
When playing video from the timeline and the Program panel, video and audio are out of sync.
Also, the AJA Playback Setting panel does not open-up, either in Sequence or in the Program panel (only the Adobe Playback Settings panel opens up).
Do you have that problem, too?
When I play clips in Machina or in the Source panel, everything is OK.
I have an NVidia Quadro FX 3800 graphics card, so the graphics card is not the problem. -

September 10, 2009 at 1:59 am in reply to: Xena LS and video effects in Premiere Pro CS4I wondered about that, but I checked the drivers and they say 4.1.1
I did uninstall the 4.1.3 before reverting, so it shouldn’t be any kind of interference.
I worked with the 4.1.3 drivers for a couple of days, so either it affected my settings or the 4.1.1 original version was tweaked at AJA (which I doubt; it wouldn’t make any sense).
So I guess I’m stuck with that situation until they come up with a solution. -

September 9, 2009 at 8:13 pm in reply to: Xena LS and video effects in Premiere Pro CS4Did everything work okay after you went back to 4.1.1?
I was advised by AJA to revert to 4.1.1 and after I did that all the problems I had with 4.1.3 remained:
No external monitor, bad sync between video and audio in the timeline; so I’m using the Xena only for capture and editing without it.
They are planning a 4.1.4 release, so I guess there won’t be a non-rc 4.1.3. -

September 8, 2009 at 2:31 am in reply to: Xena LS and video effects in Premiere Pro CS4Some of the new issues I have are things that were working before this release and now aren’t anymore.
No more RGB output to my external monitor when in program. It outputs in source but not in program, which is what I need most.
My timeline now has a red bar above clips just out of the project panel, with no effects on them.
Also when capturing, if I set handles at 60 frames, it adds 60 frames before the in-point but at the out-point it subtracts the 60 frames (ends capture 60 frames before the set out-point).
It could be some other glitches that I haven’t experienced yet. -

September 5, 2009 at 9:47 pm in reply to: Xena LS and video effects in Premiere Pro CS4This problem was solved by the release of the 4.1.3 drivers by AJA on 9-4-09.
Unfortunately, new problems appeared after installing theses drivers.
If they aren’t solved soon, I’ll start a new thread.
