I probably didnt explain myself real well. The issue is not so much with the mixing of the formats. It seems more pronounced in just a straight HD render.
Seems that when there are bright areas in the video or movement such as long grass being blown by a pretty strong wind that is when it is happening.
As I said this has been on an old CRT TV. We actually went out yesterday and purchased a 46″ LCD and the rendered video does look much better than on the CRT, but not as good as I was expecting though. Maybe my expectations are just too high perhaps.
We also have to assume that potentially many people would still be watching on CRT so that is my concern. It should look better than it does. Maybe it is something I am doing wrong in the rendering, wrong settings or something.
Technology gets so confusing sometimes.
