    I realise now that these are the four sync audio channels of the clip.
    This is normal behavior for DNxHD exports?
    I’ve previously only done ProRes transcodes so this seriously freaked me out!

    Not eager to upgrade anything in the middle of a project!

    I think I’ll go that route for the final version.

    Luckily youtube’s compression hid the digital rain a little for the competition submission of my film.

    I’d been exporting in HP all along, MP had the same results.

    Thanks for the reply. The problem appeared with and without the grade.

    I just imported the completed Premiere CS6 project into CS5 and exported from there.
    No ‘digital rain’ to be seen. Clearly an issue with Premiere CS6 or the encoder it uses.

    Is there any clear way to avoid this issue?
    I’ve been dealing with it for weeks now and it’s brought my project completely to a halt.

    The audio files and video files both have their audio tracks set to stereo in the project viewer.
