Ohh..yess..this is very helpful…cant believe i never tried to do this or even by accident.

ive tried it before, but i couldnt get it to look good. you can do this using element 3d and the bend options and/or the animation engine. note that your plane must have the geometry to bend so bump up the subdivision levels…alternatively i believe you might be able to just turn your composition into a 3d one and use the native bending options

Have you tried lookinf for the culprit which must be an effect, something intensive or something pushed to the limits such repetiles, kaledioscope..ect…what effects start to take pplace at 4:10 or 5:08/, check the adjustment layer…take it iff and see what happens…if not that try taking off something else..ect until you find the culprit.

Mr mercury is what you want..you can create semil realistic liquids and water flows with the right source images. Actually you can do a lot with it if you play around with it. And Caustics might be another option

2014 is probably too old now with all the updates and way after effects opens projects. I can only save as 1 previous version..so for 2014 there is probably no point

element 3d models of planes dont have the geometry to be able to do this…maybe another plane or if someone could edit model

Oh..I didnt realize track mattes dont work on shadows like that…But masks do. either that or you will have to precompose your 3d text..possibly with the 3d precompose effect from videocopilot..and then add the shadows in

my guess is that its the camera cut off under element. it must be a big scene scale wise…you just need to make sure the plane has a shadow matte on under the material settings.

That video has some kind of coll cloth or water that looks like it was made in a 3d program…but the underlying effect is called cc Kaleied or whatever..make some sort of basic animation and watch it come to life with the kaliedo effect
