The way they are working now is that you are not able to upgrade if you are more than 1 version behind. meaning that if you are in cs4 you cannot upgrade to cs6 much less too cs 7. you would need to iether payfull price for a perpetual lic. (if available) or go to the cloud. If they had warned via email all registerd owners and these disregarded then no problem but if adobe didnt do this then i see it wrong.

Its not only about the posibility of maliciuos code its about giving someone access to you computer hence the posibility of seeing and retrieving info is posible. I am not saying that adobe will do that but again maybe they will, if not them the door adobe uses to get in your system is a door and there are plenty of talented hackers that are looking for a thrill not to mention for fame and fortune. my system is always ofline.

Let me clarify my last post. I dont think that the cloud will continue to attrack most new users once they trg it. They will probably get a perpetual lic. but I think companies that have dozens of editors will take to the cloud for the overhead in these operations is huge.

The only thing that calms me is that I doubt they will do anything to pissoff the hundreds of thousand perpetual lic. users. Most new cloud users on the forum are new users or want to try it out. Can a companay be so stupid to screw their user base? (dont say the obivious because i think that apple did on purpose to go for a different segment of profesional.)

nice try but they will not answer. though i think it will be stupid for them to cancel the uograde for perpetual lic. its not beyond the posibility.

mi opinion is that the cloud attracts new users both individuals and companies that want to try it at a reduced cost.

I belive that the clouds popularity is mostly from new users who what to try the apps without the big expense. kind of a paid tryout for a year.

The only way i would join the cloud is if i needed an extra license for a period of time.

However if adobe offered the chance of getting a perperual lic. at a reduced price after a period of paying the cloud, i would be more Icompelled to try it.

    I agrer with tom.
