IMPORTING PANASONIC 3700 (AVC INTRA MFX) FILES INTO MEDIA 100 SUITE
What’s the best codec to use ?

I have just bought a Panasonic Varicam HD camera; superb picture quality, etc.
This camera creates MFX files on a P2 memory disk.
My video editing system is Media 100 Suite, version 1.7 (intel) installed on a MacPro 5.1 (OS-X 10.6.8)
Importing the camera files into Media 100 does not work via the Panasonic P2 option, so I have installed third party software (Calibrated Q) to do this, resulting in an AVC Intra option which seems to work fine.

My question is : what is the best option to import files

Media 100 HD, 8- or 10-bits uncompressed ? This results in fil;es 10 times larger than the MFX files.
Or should I go for one of the other codecs like ProRes ?

If there’s anyone who’s got some experience with this and is willing to share this with me, please response. Thanks in advance.
