Thanks for the info…I was able to combine projects but now it wont render. Says system low on memory (try closing other applications that are runnin etc.) I have ran into this before and not sure how I fixed it. I have plenty of RAM because I just had more installed and they put in the max which is 16GB. Any thoughts?

November 29, 2011 at 8:32 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas 9 not responding / shuting down problemThanks…I will give it a try. I dont know what else to try. It might be some corrupt media. I did have a project that kept shutting down and when I took out the Go Pro footage it ran fine. Is there something special I need to do to use Go Pro footage?

I appreciate everything you have helped me with…can you explain how I go about downloading the file that seems to be giving me problems (IO Plug-Insmcplugmcmpegin.dll) I am pretty sure I can find it under my program files but from there I am not sure which one to get rid of and which one to download to replace it or even where to find the download. I am pretty green when it comes to this kind of specific computer problems.

Should I try reinstalling Pro 9? If so, how do I do that and not loose any of my current projects?

Dont believe that I have installed codec packs that I know of…I will try the download and replace strategy and let you know.

I tried the suggestion and still having trouble. Today I received this message with a totally new project.
Name= Vegas Pro
Application version = 9.0e (build 1147)
Problem: Unmanaged Exception (Oxc0000005)
Fault mode: C:/ProgramFilesSonyVegas Pro 9.0File IO Plug-Insmcplug
mcmpegin.dll
Fault address: Ox23213144
Fault offset: ox00013144Does this mean anything to you? Would upgrading to Vegas 11 help or should I try re-installing Vegas 9.0. I need to do something because my business is suffering with the constant Not Responding issues, freeze ups and shuting downs.
Thanks for any help!

Different times it will just say Vegas is Not Responding and it will never respond. Other times it I get a report that Vegas had a problem and has to shut down (not exactly what it says so next time it does it I will write it down). I am trying to add a fairly simple project (1min 30 sec) to another project 3mins long and it runs into a problem everytime. Maybe I am not doing something right when it comes to the project properties but I need Vegas to allow me to make 30 min DVDs or my business cannot function. I had a previous post a week or so ago detailing all my computer info and how I had set up the Vegas files on my computer if that helps. I did the control shift as you suggested and it did seem to allow the projects to load quicker but I tried importing a project into another and it is not responding again.
