I just received an email from AJA Inside Sales in response to my questions on availability of the IoHD. Here’s what they said:

“Yes, we are very close to shipping and we were hoping for the end of July
shipments to begin but we are running behind so the new date is the end of
August. There is a huge backlog so depending upon when your reseller placed
the order will determine when it will [ship] once the shipping begins. Too
difficult to tell at this point until we actually start shipments.”

It looks like even if all goes well at AJA, at least another month wait my friends.

Anthony, make sure you’re using at least FCP version 5.1.4. We have a project here shot with that Canon camera, the pre-set is HDV1080p24, at a frame rate of 23.98, and plays back without problems. Video really never gets recorded at 24p, but 23.976p (sometimes expressed as 23.98p), since it records it over a 60i (59.94i) transport, using one of two different pulldown methods. It’s 60i no matter what. I hope this helps.

I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’ve just posted a suggestion about render quality, and you might try it. Go to you sequence settings, then go to the video processing tab, then the motion filtering quality setting and change that to FASTEST (LINEAR). See if that helps. Also, I have my RENDER IN 8-BIT YUV setting selected in that same dialog box.
    GOOD LUCK
