Hello Mr.Bob,
Googling about U-matic,your name came often. Please teach me ;o)
Just wanna know if I am beating a dead horse lol.
Here my thought so far…on new world (for me) of U-matic..
I know the importance of TBC (even) if there is no universal definition of tbc right now I am capturing vhs tape via S-Video path with Virtuldub.
It seem that the old old BVU-950 and the old VO-9850 are the deck of choice for playback/editing. How to know if the BVU-950 have a TBC? Is there any way of knowing it just by looking at the deck or we have to open it? On the broadcast store site, they says that the deck have Internal BKU-901 TBC. With JVC S-VHS deck it’s easy there is a TBC button on the front panel.
I ask because here you seem to said that some model have build-in TBC. But it’s still a option? right?
VO-9850 seem a bit complicated in term of parts because it look that there is no internal TBC, just external.
Sure I would like to capture Y/C 3.48Mzh (s-video). If I can use a
transcoder/TBC combo (like Leitch DSP-295) do I still need the sony TBC?
Thanks
