Thank you. All of the options came up as supported.

Problem. When I chose to “make movie” I didn’t receive the usual options in the render window. The movie name, file type, etc is already chosen and all I can do is select render. Also, when I start AE there is a small warning window but the contents don’t show. Like I’m out of video memory (just a guess)

10 minutes. Tried it at 5 minutes. Not much better.

The comp consists of a 2D layer with Trapcode Particle and a source layer which is a comp of 300+ images. Also a camera for scanning from left to right.

I’m using jpg images only. I guess I’m not familiar with PhotoShop 3D. Sorry. I have a core 2 quad processor. With XP Pro, how can I use more than 4 Gig of Ram?

Now that I have updated AE my render time is 30+ hours. How can anyone work with a render time like that?

If nothing else works I may have to upgrade the computer. I can’t render for 20+ hours and then notice changes or continue to get errors. As a reminder, I have an XP Pro machine. 4 GB Ram. One internal drive and one External drive. Core 2 Quad CPU. Radeon HD 2600 Pro video card. If I was to build a PC for After Effects from the ground up what should I do differently.

Updating now. Should know if it helps in about 45 mins.

Decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and render the entire comp. Selected H264. Have 300 images, all jpg’s.

    Got this error
After Effects Error:PhotoShop file format error-out of memory
    (-108)
    (45:35)

XP Pro with 4 gig ram.

    Recognize this error?

Also, the render screen shows 58% of 2 GB being used. I have 4 GB of ram.

You are right. My system and rendering limitations have not caught up with my design ambitions. The project consists of only 2 layers and Trapcode Particle with 300+ pictures replacing the particles.

Seems simple enough on the surface.

    Thank you for the input.
