Ok, the squashing is in the Compressor/batch monitor preview window. The dvd came out fine though thanks, the best yet.
Unfortunately, it took 6 hours for compressor to do it’s thing but DVDSP was finished in about 5 minutes burning the DVD.

    thanks.

    Thanks, a couple of questions,
the project I’m working on is 17 minutes using the apple HDV codec. I’m using a Mac dual G5 2.5 with stripped drives. It’s going to take about 5 hours to encode the video? is that righ?

And when importing assets into DVDSP do you just use the standard 90 minute 16×9 preset? and when I look in the preview should the image be squashed horizontaly?

    thank ray

Thanks Dave. I’m trying the nested sequence right now. it’s going well….. I tried re-digitizing the show from tape on my HD camera and the video levels are too hot and there’s ugly pixels around all the bright stuff so. is there such a thing as a firewire proc amp? hopefully this will work. Hey, I know….. I’ll buy an HD DVD………. ouch….
    thanks….

Still having problems. creating a QT in the Apple HDV 1080i60 in FCP with not self contained selected and, toward the end of the “forever” process compressor says there is an error. I’m only working with a 6 minute file but things are really slow and then I get errors. help….

Thanks, so my codec for compression out of FCP doesn’t matter. just use the HD codec my project is in?
that sounds easy I’ll try it right now. thanks
