Thanks for the recommendation Joseph! I’ll be sure to add this to my priority reads!

Hmmm, it’s nice to see how it seems almost second nature to veterans like yourselves. Too bad there’s not much material on the internet on the subject. Thanks for the input, guys!

Thanks for the reply! I agree that pacing motion according to music can help a lot! What I really meant to ask about was not exactly pacing or transitions, but maybe how to know when it’s okay to ‘swap graphics’ in a transition without the viewer noticing (without motion blur). I suspect this technique only comes with constant practice and a deeper understanding of motion.

Something else that’s interesting is that if I bring the rendered MOV back into AE the colours look right again.

    FIXED:

Okay, I found a fix for anyone having the same problem.

Project Settings -> Working Space: “Apple RGB 1998”
Render Queue -> Output Module -> Color Management -> Output Profile: “Apple RGB” (not “Working Space – Apple RGB 1998”)

@Roland R. Kahlenberg: I’m sorry if my ignorance in this the subject annoyed you but I assure you I’m trying very hard to put whatever help I get to good use.

In the technique you mentioned, should I use AE’s tracker or Mocha? And if I use Mocha, should I use TF or CP data?

@niccolo ungaro: O_O Wow, those examples really opened my eyes to Mocha capabilities. Thank you very much for sharing!

Oh no worries there! I love using Mocha and even the basic AE tracker for shots without too much rotation. Btw, I just got a trial version of PFHoe! It’s a lot tougher to handle than expected I guess I just needa practise. Thanks again for the info!

Ah, I always thought I could use Mocha track planes, move into AE, apply the data to a Null, and just parent everything to it. Thanks for clearing that up.

Yea, I think I’m gonna have to get a 3D tracker after all.

Thanks again! That Mocha thing has been bugging me for way too long.

While I appreciate the suggestion on camera tracking, I thought I’d figure out how to do this in AE and Mocha only.

Yea, I am excited about motion tracking for the first time, but also a little frustrated. There have been tutorials in which the person could be seen applying the corner pin data to a Null and simply parenting an object to the Null. Simple. But when I do the exact same thing, no dice. I can’t understand why that worked for them since the data only adds a Corner Pin effect to the Null without any xyz changes.

I’ve gone through the mocha guide and quite a few tutorials and haven’t been able to address this weird problem so I guess I’ll just have to keep looking.
