RatShacks mics are made by Shure.

Radio Shack carries some nice dynamic mics for less than that. You can get a decent dynamic mic and xlr cable for less than 60 bucks.

You can always record to your DV camera and capture audio only.

Thanks Ron. I like this camera for its workflow. The idea of pulling in proxy files, doing a quick cuts-only edit and then BURNING that EDL back onto to the same disk is just brilliant.
One would think, that of all NLEs, Vegas will have the tightest integration with the camera. The idea of being on the road and emailing proxy files and having a rough edit done before you get back is just way too cool.

I just did 1:50 with motion menu and intro with DA3 – Variable rate: 7600max 4500avg 192min one or two pass won’t matter on the file size.

Quite a crane! So I take it that one moves the handle and canola oil moves up or down the coiled tube to move the pan/tilt head. Is that correct?
