Yea, I didnt make out too well with the RocketRaid stuff. Its been pulled from my system and sitting on the floor. I did buy the Caldigit, and i LOVE it man, though it is MUCH louder than the Enhance Box was, but its also much smaller.

I am glad the Rocketraid is working out for you. I may get back around to fiddling with it, but i just dont think i will ever be able to trust it, as it bit me pretty hard on this one. With that said, that set up was 1/4 the cost of this CalDigit Set-up….

I will definitely monitor this thread to see how others make out. I am also going to take a look at the case as well and see if there is anything to the SATA cable hypothesis…

Well I couldnt stand to troubleshoot anymore, so I pulled the drive array from my system. I got a replacement card, and it still didnt work. Hey if the above poster is correct, maybe it IS the case itself. I haven
gone that route. Anyway I just bought a 12TB CalDigit HDOne, and I will post my experiences in that forum. If anyone gets to the bottom of it, please report back!

Well, i finally got around to returning my card. I got another back in a shrink wrapped box, but the card within was obviously NOT new/ nor adequately refurbished, as when I added it to my system, I could see in the event log that it had been connected to Samsung drives. They could have at least cleared the cache.

Anyway, new card, same problems. DO NOT BUY THIS CARD. its simply NOT worth it. And on top of it, they had the nerve to have a sales person call me to see if I knew about their newest card. HA, never again. DO NOT DO IT.

I am going to reach out to Mac Sales to see if they can help me at all.

Hi Jarvis and others with a working 3522,

Can you try one thing for me. Can you copy a folder of media >20GB off the drive and on to another drive on your system, or a network drive. And let me know if it works?

THe new firmware has helped, but still having this specfic issue. Also, Jarvis are you using the Samsungs or the Seagates? If so, the ES or the regular drives?

If you can, will you email me the firmware? I am excited to hear you are up and running.

My card is still sitting to the side. I have been working 12 hour days lately, so I dont have the time to card and fax the form back. Per the poster above he had better luck with Acerca. I will post once I have time to get this sorted, but they dont advance ship and its a 3 stage process to get the card back. For a professional this is simply too much. It pisses me off that they got so many good reviews everywhere. But as I write this, i should probaly go fax that form in.

I still have not resolved this. I am in the process of RMAing the card. at this point I would NOT reco this card. I have Fiber, so I just sat the case and drives to the side and am working off fiber.

I do think this is a driver or firmware problem since writes work just fine. Maybe its connected to all the problems caldigit had perfecting their card to market. Who knows, but this thing is not a sound choice right now in my eyes.

I will update as i trouble shoot further, but i just dont have the time to mess with it everyday. let me know if you get your situation sorted.

glad it helped you, but I would still keep up with your judicious backups, there is something wrong here. as now I am having even more issues. Until I can get it sorted I am using the Fibre stuff, but this is concerning.

My array worked fine as well for a couple of weeks before these issues. The switch to 64k worked for a while, but now the issues are back. I have now migrated to RAID 0 to see if that helps, but I am staring at a spinning beachball in final cut right now as I type this, so its not looking good.

A couple of questions for you.

    1. What drives (Brand and size) and firmware are you using?
    2. What RAID Level are you running?
    3. RAID Block size, I see its now 64k before that it was 128k, did you ever go larger?

Their tech support is RIDICULOUS. Its really unfortunate, this seems like the killer card. I will update once I figure out this latest round of issues.
