Wayne. I think that is my problem. I import the files directly from my camera to a hard drive, then import into FCP. So this means that I have to convert every file to prores422? Like through compression? I feel like such an idiot b/c i went to school for film but am by all means not an editor. I know there are better people out there for the job.

I am having the same sort of problem. I am editing with Canon 5D MKII footage shot in 1920X1080. I have also mixed footage from another camera as well as stills, but for instance: I have a part in my timeline where there is a still-cross dissolve- footage (5d) and there is a stutter in the video footage (the specific clip is a tilt) MY sequence is set at 1920X1080 HDTV1080i 16X9 with a pixel aspect ratio square… What is the deal? I’m editing with Final cut studio 7 HD… HELP!!
