This filter doesn’t like anamorphic timelines.
If I apply it to the same clips but keep it in a 4:3 timeline I can edit and composite.
But still haven’t been able to export with alpha channels.
Let me know if you find a way around this.

I usually use the de-interlace filter and set it to maximum flicker filter
I do this to all photoshop files that I import into FCP.
