using AE 5.5
OSX 4.6
quicktime 7.1.2

using AE just to compress files. so i load in the quicktime, then export as quicktime (although i’ve tried rendering and run into the same problem)… i get an error message that says

After Effects error: opening sound component
(-2166)

i’ve checked all the forums… the original work around was to downgrade to quicktime 6.5, which i can’t because it doesn’t work on OSX4… the other work around was to rebuild the locate database and whatis database using OnyX, which i did….

i still keep getting that same error message…. and i don’t want to upgrade AE because i only use it to compress files… sigh….

help! do you know anything about this???
