Shane, did you test this and did it work out okay?
Recently we’ve had some incidences of being unable to open bins created in MC 3.1.2 on older systems including Xpress Pro 5.6 and MC 2.8. Interestingly, we were able to open and adjust/repair the bins on one MC 2.8 system but not the other.
I also could not find any answers to this one. Wonder if anyone else is experiencing this.

    Cheers,

    Yeah….pretty much what I thought.
Just been reading some confusing posts…
Wanted some expert advice to convince post super to just rent the darn HDCAM deck. Seems to me it will just save money and time in the long run.

I am in somewhat the same situation as Ken. I am currently using a Blackmagic Decklink HD extreme with our FCP station. So, if I have a downconverted 29.97 digibeta which I would guess has framerate conversion and pull-down applied from a 23.98 HDCAM master. Is it the case that the Decklink card can do a reverse pull-down on the digibeta to conform back to 23.98 to match the master? If so, is there an Easy Setup to use for this? Or are there custom settings to change?

    Perhaps wishful thinking…
Trying to convince Post Sup to just rent an HDCAM deck. Would truly make this easier…but I like the Blackmagic option since we have the tool at our disposal. Just trying to make sure I understand.

    Thanks,

My understanding is that the Fw-1082 supports the ‘Mackie control protocol’ which AA 2.0 also supports. From what I can gather though, you don’t get all the functionality of the Tascam FW control interfaces. Basically fader and transport control.

Again, this all is not from personal experience with the product. I haven’t taken the plunge in getting a 1082 yet. But I have a keen interest in seeing them work together.

The standard party line from the Adobe folks I queried at NAB was AA supports ‘Mackie emulation/control protocol. I couldn’t get much more than that. The Tascam people basically said that their source code was open to any developers and that it was in Adobe’s court to get them working together. If more professionals ask for it, maybe…..

Also, here is something that might shed a little light on the subject:

Have successfully used Digi OO2 with Audition 2.0 as a soundcard/playback device. However, seemed a bit unstable. Audition seems to have trouble recognizing Digi 002. Had to restart the Audition software a few times. I guess it’s ultimately able to recognize the OO2’s ASIO drivers.

I haven’t tried recording into Audition with OO2. Will try it and post results.

Drawback for me would seem not being able to use the 002 as a control surface as well. You might be better off going with Tascam FW-1884 or 1082. Unfortunately I can’t speak from experience on that one but by all accounts, they have a bit more functionality with Audition 2.0.

    Good luck,

    Piri
