So, Joe, are you saying that in order to achieve smoother editing in 1080p Long-GOP, it makes sense to transcode to ProRes?

    Joe,

Thanks for the input. Would transcoding to ProRes or proxy files make a difference?

    Sharri & Christian,

So far no luck. The Apple Senior Advisor, who tested it himself and got the same result, passed it up to his supervisors.
Guess what? They’re stonewalling the whole issue. Here’s the Official Response:

“If the Flow transition is used as designed and as intended, it works as expected in both OS X 10.11.6 and macOS 10.12.2.”
That’s how they address my report.

I’ve been talking to another Apple guy but I’m beginning to see the handwriting on the wall. What they say about Apple
being more interested in the iPhone customer than the professional editor may be true. If so, it’s no wonder that Adobe
    is taking the lead.

    Sharri & Christian,

I’ve been speaking with two Apple Senior advisors. One was able to produce the problem on his end; one was not.
    Still no answers!
    Will keep you posted.

    Sharri,

I’ve spoken to Apple Pro Apps. They did tests and got the same result. They’re working on getting it fixed in a future update.

I never had Toast 11 but Toast 14 can do Blu-ray authoring.

It works now when I burn to the internal Super Drive but not to the external Pioneer burner.

Jeremy wins the prize. I copied it and pasted it into a new Project and it worked like a charm in the pasted version and the Snapshot.

    Thanks so much, guys!

Just checked & re-imported the Crowd effect. No change. I even checked the ac3 file made for the DVD and the audio drops out in the same spot. What is it in the Export process that’s happening which isn’t happening when it’s just being played?
Next, I’ll try copying it and pasting it into a new Project as Jeremy suggested.

Just a basic 48 Khz caf. file from Apple Loops. It looks fine. I just re-inmported it again and got the same result. It must something else. There’s one other effect in the vicinity. I’ll check that as well.
