    It doesn’t happen if I do export. I happens when I choose file>save as

    It was recorded on an HD camera, Sony cinealta I believe, but I don’t know which exact model. It was filmed directly to digital tape. We then sent the tapes out to a company that exported the video and audio with a time code to a terabyte external hard drive in quicktime format.

    From what I was told, there was no manipulation or resizing done. It was a straight conversion from digital tape to hard drive.

    The image doesn’t appear to be squished…it looks fine. It is square pixels (1.0) for the aspect ratio. So at 1920×1080 that gives a 16:9 which is what it should be.

    If I open the movie in Quicktime and go to window > show movie properties, quicktime reports normal size of video as 1920×1080.
