I have the same problem, it works if I use the same as source setting but if I try to customize the settings the avid crashes.
I use a pc with XP pro, avid xpress pro 5.7.2, Nvidia 9600 GT and nvidia driver 6.14.11.7416, Quicktime 7.4.2.
What updates do you have in mind? I have a K-lite codec pack installed.

I tried to reinstall the XP pro an dalso the avid but it still doesn´t work. Any clues?
