I hear you guys. Believe me, I would if I could. But she was the one that filmed it, I dont live in the same state.
And keying was just a thought, I don’t know if that’s what she wants or not, that’s what I WOULD LIKE, but I guess its up to her. (Although I may just do it and get it over with.)
Assuming I don’t / can’t key it, should I go with painting the base or using the rotobrush tool?
And depending on which one, do you have any good tutorials on it? I’ve never done either.
    Thanks a bunch!

Yeah that’s actually waht i was trying. But the colors didnt look so well matched, ya know? But yeah, I duplicated the clip and then cropped it, painted it and tried to feather it. But it’s just not coming out the best.

As for the leg movement, it’s just walking to and from the camera.
The clip will actully be overlayed as a ghosted image over another video clip. As far as quality, its mainly for the web. But it was all shot in HD.

If she’s willing, id much rather just pull her out of the entire thing, then ghost her; a keying effect.

Anyway, what are your thoughts to do this? Is there a trick in Mocha?

  • Yes, I’m sorry. I imported in DV 720x 480 widescreen, but Im exporting to 1280×720 hd. Not really relevant, just curious what codec i should use for exporting from premiere to get a lossless.

  • Ok, So I tried using a different format than the mp4, and AVI. It did render this time.
Since I am using a PC, what is the best lossless format to import it into AE?
I’m trying to get the 1280×720 look, dont need full HD.
    Thanks guys.

  • Yes all that was turned off, still didnt find an error log though.
It usually stops at 50, give or take 2 secs. As far as what id going on, nothing, just a video clip with no effets. I exported it before without the video so I could bring the effects into premiere. (but that’s a different story, neither one will work with each other). Anyway. It worked and exported fine from premiere, but it looked horrible. So, after reading some posts here, I exported the premiere movie. Then brought that into After Effects to render everything from there.
So, that’s all I know for now. I’ve tried 3 different codecs, avi, h.264 and fv4. No go.
    thx 🙂
