  • Hey George,

So I tried rendering out just the game video as MAGIX Intermediate, created a new test project with that rendered video, put in the face, and test-rendered just the area with the sped up parts, along with the normal speed segments next to it… same thing. :/ It’s all good, though. I mean, this is only for one game. I can just continue doing what I do, and all the other games should be good, as they’ll be on the PS4, Switch, Xbox, and PC. ^_^

    Once more, thank you.

  • Oh! Ok, George! I did read it but was not quite sure what you meant by it. I will absolutely try it out!

Thanks for the clarification and steps, because I am still learning Vegas in that sense. ^_^

    Thanks!

  • Hey George and Graham!

Thank you both so much for looking into all this. It does look like it’s coming from my game video track then? I think what it is on my side is the “upscaler” device I use for the PS2 (allows their initial cable to turn into an HDMI cable for my Elgato HD 60 Pro device). On my original post, I had put that it seemed the game slowed down or sped up just a little while I was trying to record my face at the same time of play (probably unnoticeable to the naked eye) in order to keep the game’s graphics looking better than what they’re supposed to be. It is perhaps due to this that there is a variable bitrate?

Either way, that is the only method I have of record my PS2 gameplay. Other systems, as they have HDMI cables by default, go directly into the Elgato, and did not seem to have much issue with anything. I think I’ll just let my sub’s know that it’ll either always be choppy, or I’ll just go back to doing only my voice, which may be easier.

Again, I do appreciate both of you very much, and thank you as always,
    Phil

  • Hey George!

Thanks for checking it. I could very well be our systems, though it was working perfectly before on the older version I had (13, I think?).

If it is system issues, well…

    Specs:
    I7 4790
    Asus Z97-A motherboard
    Asus R9 390x STRIX
    16GB DDR3
    480GB SSD
    3TB HDD
    Corsair C70 case
    Corsair H100i cooler
    EVGA 1KW PSU
    Asus 23″ IPS monitor
CoolerMaster Storm mechanical keyboard w/CherryMX Browns

I built it myself a few years ago, so may need to update something?

    Anyway, thank you yet again!

  • Hey Graham!

Thank you for your help as well!

1] I went to the video preferences and turned the GPU acceleration off.

2] Went to the render settings and with Mainconcept selected, chose a constant bitrate of 20m.

I hope that’s what you were meaning. ☺ As for a new project, should I just try to start the next video by editing it in such a way?

    Thanks again,
    Phil

  • Hey George,

Yeah, I guess I just worded it differently, so sorry about that! But yeah, I rendered out the game video after the edits, and what I did was just upload that to a new project, and then put my face video overlay to the new (edited, then rendered) game video. Either way, it did not work.

But ok, here’s the 063 file:
    13082_lcs063.veg.zip

Thank you again for your patience!

  • UPDATE: I tried rendering out a small section of it with both the normal and sped up segments with Mainconcept, but it still did the same thing. 🙁

  • Thanks again for the response!

I’ll try changing it to the Mainconcept AVC and check that out.

I did try rending out just the game video, then making a new project with that full video, and then putting my face video to that, but it still did that same thing, just on the sped up parts.

Here’s a screenshot of my work:

I only group my face video and the red solid color (face video frame) together (of course with the VO audio track). The game video only stays grouped with it’s audio. I also used a volume audio envelope on the game audio track. For both game and face video tracks, I disabled resamples, too.

As for posting the files… Not quite sure how I’d do that. :/

    Again, thank you. ^_^
