    Hi Tom
I’m posting this on multiple forums and Tom asked me to give a step by step process on 2-pop so here it is for the Creative Cow crew.
Here’s what I am doing. I highlight a video clip in the sequence by clicking on it and then holding down the Cmd key I click on an audio clip (I can click on multiple audi clips and the result is the same). I now have a video and audio clip selected. I try to use the keyboard shortcut Cmd L to link these two clips and nothing happens. There is no linking line under the clip names. I go to Modify in the menu bar and the Link option is not checked. This happens with either Cmd button on the keyboard. If I use my mouse I can link and unlink the chosen media via the Modify Menu.

The same thing happens if I want to link and/or unlink video and audio media that was originally linked during capture So it seems to happen with all media.

It happens in different projects including DV, HDV and ProRes 422.

I can hold the Option key to select an individual clip within linked media, and the Shift L Keyboard shortcut also works.

And to recap, I’ve changed keyboards, trashed preferences, and rebooted.

Am I really not doing something right? I’ve been using FCP for seven years. I can’t believe I’m confused but stranger things have happened.

    thanks everyone
    phil

    Thanks Michael,
I should have added that too. I have other cmd functions cmd v, cmd c, cmd x etc. and I tried switching out keyboards as well. This has really got me stumped.
