Hi thanks for getting back to me,

I have the one folder with 4 sub folders named: clip, edit, general and sub. And 3 XML files named discmeta index and mediapro.

Im guessing all the clips are the ones in the clip folder which contains the XML’s and MXF versions.

I dont know what camera or exactlyhow they were exported they were just sent to me for the edit I am doing. It was footage from a camera of broadcast standard and I’m afraid thats all i know.

I dont normally edit unless its very basic and I am totally confused by this.

I have tried the import XML and seecting the clips but then im asked to choose translation cde and it opens the same folders, i honestly dont understand the term translation code either.

    Thanks again

I have been given footage on an EXT HD in XML/MXF format and when I try to import it into FCP it says I need to choose a translation document.
I have never done this before and do not understand the command.
Can anyone please help on explaning how I get the files to work in FCP.

    Many thanks
