One more dumb question – adding FEC or BCC AE filters would just be redundant with Red’s existing filter set, right?

Boris – it never occurred to me that the Google window would search the site and opposed the web…I guess that’s why I ask so many questions.

Thanks for a bunch of great products (especially RED) that make me look good!

FYI, the entire episode ended in the demise of my 2008 Apple Raid Card, which is being replaced as of this writing under Apple Care. Apparently our Raid Card had been becoming dysfunctional over the last several months and the jump to SL was just too much for it’s little heart. Apple has resolved the issue with us amicably.

That is soooo cool! Even better than what I wanted! I have a canvas and a sequence in each monitor! I love it. Thanks!

I just tested it because I was not sure I was following but tried it and you are absolutely right. Now, is there a keyboard shortcut for switching between those tabs, I wonder?

Well SL is installed and FCS 3 is about half way. CS4 wating on the runway. We are starting with a clean new drive. We are cloning the old system drive to a new drive using a cloning device, before the orginal goes back to Seagate.

  • I have the same problem when I stack a few tracks – was better in DVCPRO 50 with IO LA, but now using DVCPRO HD and Kona Lhi. I find however that dynamic is essential and even if your Kona does get constipated your canvas will keep working. And, eventually, you gotta render.

Oh and your attitude needs some help too.

Bob – thank you for being the only person who seems to get what I am doing. All 4 drives are being replaced and all fresh installs.

I know you by reputation – any land mines I should know about in this endeavor?

Mac Pro Early 2008 dual quad 2.88
    Currently 10.5.8
    FCS 3, FCP 7.0.1
    8800 GT video card
Apple Raid card for bays 2 – 4
    Kona Lhi
    Bella Pro Keyboard
Various FW800, Esata and USB drives
Source P2 (duel adaptor on my MBP w. 10.5.8) and Beta SP

Thanks – the big switch is about 12 hours away.

It seems to me most systems need a serious enema around 2 years.

    Cheers,

Noah – I cannot use my Duel Adaptor with the Mac Pro anyway so no loss there. I intend to keep the MBP on Leopard for now just for that purpose.

Any other land mines out there?
