    Thanks for replying.

I can add tracks within quicktime? That would certainly be a workable solution. I’ll look into this.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply.

When you say do two export passes, will that result in a single file or two files — One full mix and one m+e?

The delivery spec is pretty adamant that they require a single four track file.

    Thanks again

    Just to add some info.

This morning I’ve played the same ProRes files captured by the BM Intensity Extreme out to the same monitor only this time via an mxo2-mini that I have borrowed.

The files played back as expected without any of the filed issues. I am therefor left to assume that there is an issue with BM i/o.

As before.. any help would be appreciated.. but i’ll keep digging

    Thanks.

Thanks for the idea, but I’ve double and treble checked and i’m pretty sure i’m feeding a normal PAL signal to the monitor.

I’m beginning to think it might be the monitor at issue.

    Thanks for the reply.

The assets are all Anamorphic DVCAM produced for DVD sell through. I doubt most of them would pass any kind of thorough broadcast QC. By and large they are 48-60 minute ‘inside the music’ style documentaries covering classic rock bands.

The fees for I-tunes/I-store are prohibitively high in relation to the type of returns expected. Amazon VOD looks like one avenue. however the client is determined to ‘get his stuff in the iphone/pad’

Having spoken to a few folks since posting this, I am currently looking at some kind of traditional e-commerce ‘digital download’ solution with a free iPhone/pad app as a front-end.

Up until a week ago I would have disagreed over color. However having used colorista 2, I am not so sure that colors days aren’t numbered, in my workflow at least.

FCS for me is all about FCP and Prores.

I think I may have found a solution.

    AviSubDetector.

It looks a wee bit rinky-dink but if it saves me £££ in transcribing then I’ll work through it.

I’ll update this if i have any success.

Thanks for the idea.. being Scottish I have worries about voice recognition.

This You-Tube vid might help explain why 😀

Another idea I was given was to screen grab each subtitle (the client already has then digitised in .dv) to jpg and try a batch OCR on them.

Thanks for the head up on the premiere thing… I’ve got CS5 arriving later this week… so maybe my answer lies therein.
