    Hi Richard,

They were originally captured on the fly in the field – so no ins and outs set. Some are entire reels, most are split into several clips – in which case all except the last clip capture fine, just the final clip is the problem. I’ve tried adjusting the ‘out’ point but that doesn’t do it – and still can’t find anyway to adjust the Media End timecode.

Not to worry – I’m half way through the job now, so only about another half dozen final clips to re-log and capture!

    Thanks for your input.

Thanks, Richard. I can indeed change the timecode in the ‘Out’ column – but my understanding is that it is the Media Start and Media End that will determine what is batch captured – and there’s no way of editing the Media End, either in the browser or in the Item Properties. Or anwhere else that I can find…

July 14, 2010 at 12:28 pm in reply to: 13″ Macbook Pro and Final Cut Studio -compatible?

    Hi Rob,

Interested in knowing if you went ahead, and if so how’s your experience? I’ve been travelling with a 17″ MacBookPro – but alongside all the rest of the kit it is too large and heavy – you can’t even open it in an economy airline seat. I’ve got a MacPro system back at base for finishing, so Color and Motion not so important – it’s to be able to capture, log, transmit and send footage from the field, so all basic FCP functions. The 15″ would certainly do it, but seems extravagant to get that when the size/weight specs are only slightly less than the 17″ – would need to get the full benefit of the 13″ size/weight to make it worthwhile. I would pair this with a 500GB 7200rpm LaCie Rugged for media capture.

Thanks for responding Rolf. The original files are DV – PAL anamorphic, captured to G-Raid drives. No problem with playing in CatDV from original media, but previews using RTOffline preset playback white. I’m working on a MacPro.
