This is certainly not the problem. Many 1/3 inch chip cameras can handle blacks very well. It is not underexposed footage, its any black in the image, for example a black shirt, or car grille, has a lot of noise with the HVX. I am also suffering with this problem. The XL2 doesn’t do this and it is a few years old. It’s very annoying and crushing the blacks shouldn’t be the answer.
Our setup included the movietube so we had a 1.2k HMI and a diva to combat the awful 5 stops of light loss you actually get with the tube, never using it again. Awful combo
