I got rid of this issue. Here’s my use case:

I was testing the new Resolve 20 on my new Mac. I am totally new to Resolve, so I was testing several rendering options. While I was rendering test videos, I was working on other applications. The click started to appear at some moment for no apparent reason. It was at the beginning of each video I subsequently rendered. Very annoying and ruining my project.

Then it occurred to me that the click sounded like when you remove or insert a jack plug into your computer. So I figured this might not be a software glitch but rather a ‘hardware’ or OS issue.

Here’s what I did to resolve the issue. It’s one (or a combination) of the options below:

    1) Make sure that Resolve is the only (A/v) application running on your system. Restart if needed.

    2) In the Render > Audio tab, switch the output from ‘Bus’ to ‘All timeline’

    Hope this helps!
