You cant get XLR ends. Where do you live. I think they even have a branch of maplins on Mars.
Surely the solution and easy buy is to buy mxlr and fxlr and solder up a cable. Its got 2 mins written on it and will last forever.(nearly)

Id never even seen that 3.5mm jack on the back of the unit. Indeed i had it covered with lokgrip for mounting to my sqn strap!
NOT THAT ID EVER USE IT!!The wireless mic is as you say, a mono device. Ive never seen a radio receiver with a 3.5mm jack as its output, but youll need a cable to take it to an xlr.
Is the 3.5mm jack on the radio receiver balanced (3 pole) or unbalanced (2 pole)?? That will affect the soldering youll need to do.

Yep, if you want to use a g3, then youll need to use a self powered mic on the other side, or use an external phantom power supply unit for the powered mic.

I occasionally do weddings and have this attitude.If you speak, you wear a mic.
typical setup
1) rifle mic on floor pointing at B&G for ceremony (NEVER RELY ON A RADIO 100%)
2) radio mic on Groom
3) radio mic on vicar/official
3) radio mic on lectern for readings
4) zoom recorder nearby as a failsafe or to record choir in stereoSpeeches
Everyone who makes a speech wears a radio mic AND the toast master as they speak too.Evening
Radio link the bands PA desk back to all cameras with a mix between the PA sound on camera mic and direct feed in post.The only answer if you want to do the audio properly is to spend the money.

I adjusted the overall levels down to an optimum level and then used
2 passes of izotope rx in noise reduction mode to filter and significantly lessen the bg noise. also dropped off a little lf.Peter

Ihave listened again to your files.
The stereo file does only have the fault on the right . As the mono file is clean (at least without the problem audio – its still quite noisy) then that suggests its the onboard mic or circuitry.
Sounds possibly like a poor connection / joint but its hard to say for sure.
If the external mic inputs are clean on both sides then id just use them always. i think the onboard mics are of no real use anyway. Ive never used them on mine after i listened to them the day it arrived.Peter

Well your sample snt much to go on but to me
1) the wav
The general broadband noise is throughout and there is a blast of hash on the right leg only. Id have thought it more likely that this was on input (ie coming from outside the recorder, but its impossible to tell 100%.
Does your recorder make clean recordings when attached to other mics / desk. or is the fault always there.
Does the fault still occur on the internal mics.
Do you have phantom power turned on with mics that dont want powering?2) the mp3 This sound swirls around badly. To me it sounds like the mpe3 is far too low a data rate. Its sounds really mpeggy / lossy – or has someone had a go with noise reduction software and over cooked it as you can get that sound that way.
You really need to do some tests swapping settings channels and input sources etc to try to home in on the source of the problem.

how come you ended up with 2 hours of out of focus footage?
you said there are pans etc so its cearly a manned camera.
