Re: using Red 5/BFX/Grafitti in PPRO CC 2014.

I am stumped, totally and utterly. BCC9 and FEC show up in PPRO CC 2014 but not Red/BFX/GRF.

I uninstalled and reinstalled, manually moved the prm plugins, all to no avail. This really is a pain in the sit upon because Premiere Pro CS6 and Vegas 13 will NOT ingest XAVC video. So I have to render everything out to Adobe MXF OP1 422 50 before I can go back to titling etc.

Has anyone managed to get Red 5 et al. to show up in PPRO CC 2014 Video Effects and Video Transitions?

I had to sign up to rent CC 2014 for 12 months 2014 in order to be able to edit XAVC but the 360$/year is trivial compared to using that Vegas add on browser thing to re-render 1 XAVC clip at a time.

Got no regrets buying the PXW X70 but sure is proving a pain to B-Roll it with the PDW 700’s MXF files!

Thanks for the update Boris. I’ve been using BorisFX since Red 2.5/BFX6 and Continuum Complete has been part of our tool chest since BCC4. You make the best video plugins out there and I know you will get the bugs out of RED5 quickly.

Are there any known issues with RED5 in Premiere Pro CS5.5? (arrives at our office next week)

I am crashing too; all I want to do is make animated titles.

    Editing XDCAM HD 35mps 1440 X 1080i.

    Premiere Pro CS5.03, Windows 7 64 bit
    16 gig RAM
SuperMicro board with two quad XEONs
    QuadroFX 3600
Two AVID SCSI ultra320 RAIDs, each on its own channel
(I physically removed the AJA Kona and its software, thinking it was to blame)

I put the Red filter into a title container, make the title, then apply. I can see the title under the red render bar. Render work area then either:
    1) Premiere crashes
    2) title turns black over the MXF video
    3) title turns to “media offline”

I already own the latest Continuum and Fianl effects and use them from the Premiere effects list, not via RED. RED transitions seem to be oaky though but I sure do need animated titles!

and at 32 bit is still pretty well useless for making Blurays. I have Win7 Ultinmate 64, two quad XEONs, 16 gigs of RAM, SuperMicro MOB and AVID SCSI RAID. All I have done for the past day is reboot endlessly watch the pretty little doughnit spin, even after rendering all the clips to Bluray MPEG2 because I thought the system lock up on clicking “build” was due to Dynamic link. Guess I have to rebuild the whole thing with Sony DVD Achitect, cruddy program but atleast it is capaable of producing a Bluray disc. Very, very frustrating.

I hope the 64 bit version comes out soon; all BorisFX tools function file in CS4 in my 64 bit Win7 O/S but there are times I prefer Vegas.
