    Thank you, Malkolm!

I do convert all audio to AC3 in Encore DVD. Among other benefits is space saving 🙂 I wish i could convert the video before capturing, but… m2v is all i have. The last question is: i’ve noticed, that NTSC file of the same duration, with the same bitrate is larger than the PAL one. The frame rate is the reason for this?

My problem is to be shure, that it will display correctly on set top NTSC DVD player and NTSC TV set. And i have no way to check this…

It was 4:3 material. When i play back the transcoded file in software it looks like 720*480. The original m2v file looks 4:3

Thanks a lot. Now the subject is perfectly clear to me. Unfortunately now DV is the best thing I can afford 🙁 But 16 bits in AE really helped.

Thanks. If I get it right, in project settings I must specify 16 bit? But the output is still 8 bit, even if I use uncompressed DV… Does DV supports only 8 bit?

As far as I know, you can’t export MP3 directly from the timeline. As for myself, i export Wawe and then make MP3 inside Audition.

Thanks a lot for quick responses 🙂 My camera is SONY DSR 250. What codec it uses? And what field it records first? What is standard then?

    Thanks :)))
