    hi donald –

the panasonic was shot at 1080. we don’t need to stay at 23.98 for the edit, but unfortunately, i just finished capturing all of the canon material at 24 fps and so i’d like to try to match the panasonic to that. the issue was that i was having real problems with the fcp timeline – everything needed to match perfectly to be able to work in it and both the frame rates and resolutions were different. so finally i simply decided to use the canon as the baseline and to try to match the panasonic to that.

do you think i’m going to have problems matching the panasonic to the canon settings i’ve already described? thanks again for all your help.

    hi donald –

i have been able to successfully capture the canon footage at that setting.

the next challenge is matching camera B (panasonic hvx 200) to the canon material. the panasonic was shot in HD at 29.97 fps, while the canon was shot in HD at 24 fps.

would it make sense to import the P2 material from the panasonic and then export it using the HDV – 1080p24 compressor? thanks very much for your help.
