after I figured out how to import an ac3 file into MPEGStream Clip – command and option – I could get the audio file on its own to import, or the video clip, mute, to import.Both with the same name. But they only come up singly, not together so it aint working for me. any thoughts?

unfortunately I cant get DVDSP to accept the ac3 file. I like v much tho your suggestion of creating this in DVDSP as it gives me an end video which is up at the 25mbits rate the client requires. I have given video and audio files the same name and they are on the same drive.

However you might want to try the Film Effects by Canadian editor Grame Nattress…go to https://www.nattress.com…Graeme sells downloadable customisable film effects to give you precisely even the number of hairs in the gate!!!! Nattress also has someother awesome FX plug-ins accessible once bought as part of FCP, and also some pretty flashy transitions…love his glow dissolve

gonna attempt answer your question with a question or two: are you performing this task in a PAL project? OK I see you mention your sequence is 25 fps but ensure everything is PAL set – up – the easiest way to do this is to go to easy set up, available on the pull down under “final Cut Pro” right next to the apple at top left of your screen and choose DV-PAL.
Beth just be methodical, the TCR plug-in is pretty basic and it is probably that something is not in PAL..
